Spirituality and Health Conference

The 2010 conference is designed for healthcare leaders, administrators, physicians, and health care practitioners, social workers, clergy members of all faiths, and lay people.

It will focus on presenting the mind, body, spirit connection; ethical considerations; and the Interprofessional Model of Spiritual Care.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  Conference hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00  p.m.

This year's conference will highlight educational and concrete clinical strategies for integrating spirituality into healthcare.

Speakers for the Conference:

Dr. Christina Puchalski, MD, MS, is the Executive Director of the George Washington Institute for Spirituality and Health, Washington, DC, and a Professor of Medicine and Health Sciences at The George Washington University School of Medicine, where she has pioneered novel and effective educational and clinical strategies to address the spiritual concerns common in patients facing illness.

Dr. David T. Mayschak, MD, is the Lead Physician in Palliative Care at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.

Rev. George Handzo, Board Certified Chaplain, is the Vice-President for Pastoral Care Leadership & Practice at Health Care Chaplaincy in New York City and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
